[ABOUT COSTUMES]
[Squall Leonheart/ Final Fantasy VIII] This was my first ever cosplay, debuted at Anime Expo 2004. Final Fantasy VIII was my favorite out of all the Final Fantasy games, and Squall was my favorite character. One day I will remake this entire outfit and debut it again...perhaps AX 08. This time I will make EVERYTHING perfect XD And maybe have a bigger FF8 cosplay group. Guys like Squall are fun to cosplay for me :]
[Uchiha Sasuke/ Naruto] Ironically, Sasuke is not really my favorite character in Naruto, but he is my most cosplayed character so far. I have done black outfit Sasuke, ANBU Sasuke, and blue outfit Sasuke in that order. For AX 05, my group was forming a Naruto cosplay group at that time. My friend Daron wanted to cosplay Sasuke for a long time, but most of my friends thought that I would make a good Sasuke as well...(based on personality...-_-;;).
We thought there were were going to 2 Sasukes in our group...Daron would be blue version, and I would be black. Eventually we decided Daron would be better as Naruto, and so we worked on that outfit, her wig, etc...it turns out Daron has become one of the best Naruto cosplayer ever XDD
Despite my dislike towards his character, I would have to say cosplaying Sasuke has to be the most fun to cosplay out of my other ones. His character is easy to mess around with other Naruto characters. Eventually I learned how to portray his personality, and perhaps appreciate his character even more.
+Black version: My first time cosplaying Sasuke was with his black version outfit (during Chuunin finals). I actually had people vote for me to choose between the black or blue outfit. All I know that the bandages were a pain in the ass, and I had developed a personal loathe to gauze bandages now >_> Sasuke seriously has a thing with bandages. At Ani-Magic 06, I also did his artbook version, when he had the red bow tied around his shoulders to his back, and his prop was a katana.
+ANBU Version: This outfit was more comfortable than his black version but it was hot as hell in that outfit, espescially with the weather during AX (June-July). I think I kinda over did some of the decorations on this outfit. XD
+Blue version: This is probably the most comfortable version so far. His shorts and shirt were easy to move in, and I didn't have to use any bandages at all :] Plus the collar worked out alot better on this one than the black one.
[ANBU Itachi/Naruto] My first time cosplaying ANBU Itachi was during a private photoshoot in Sept 05. This was the "night massacre" version...bascially when he was wearing his Uchiha shirt. This was basically made out of Sasuke's cosplay shirt and my ANBU outfit...I just added hair extensions, and voila...I'm Itachi XD Itachi is my favorite character from Naruto so I loved cosplaying him. My 2nd time cosplaying ANBU Itachi was at ALA 06, as the standard ANBU outfit (sleeveless turtleneck) with the typical Japanese embellishments Japanese cosplayers tend to use. Itachi is alot harder to express and portray than Sasuke though.
[Priest/ Ragnarok Online] This is the male version of the priest cosplay, debuted in AX 05. This has yet to be my hardest outfit to make ever, so it involved alot of help with my mom. Priest is my favorite job class in RO, and I loved the outfit. I feel I haven't worn this outfit enough though, since it was hard to make. One day I'm planning to make the High Priest version...maybe.
[Osaki Nana/ NANA] This is my first female cosplay. I love Nana because of her independant character, and plus I love her style of clothing. Nana is probably one of the best characters I can relate with, and act in character at the same time without forcing myself to act like something else. I want to make her other outfits as well some day. This was debuted in AX 06.
[Souzou Sagara/ Ruruouni Kenshin] This was for a huge Rurouni Kenshin group my group was making, and we debuted at AX 06. I'm not a fan of RK, but I do like the series, so I wasn't picky on who I could cosplay from RK. Souzou is a very veerry side character, but I'm glad I cosplayed him....because like, barely anyone cosplays him XD I wished he lived though, I really liked his character alot after I cosplayed him. His personality was pretty much easy to portray, and plus...his outfit is super easy to put on [:
[Hijikata/ Gintama] My favorite character in Gintama, debuted at AX 06. Hijikata is another fun character to mess around with...but its not as fun if I don't have my cousin with me, who is cosplaying as Okita XD I loved the Gintama shinsengumi uniform designs as well. Gintama is always a fun series to cosplay for anyone.
[Yagami Light/ Death Note]
There are two times I had debuted this cosplay. The first was at Pacific Media Expo 06, and it was a rather last minute cosplay...my friend Jin cosplayed as L. The second time was at AnimeLA 07, which I had alot more time to put the outfit together...which...didnt take very long, considering dressing like Light is easy (and I love how he dresses XD). Light is my favorite character from Death Note, so I loved our private Death Note photoshoot at ALA, but like Sasuke, hes a hard character to portray as. At ALA i had to actually cut my hair shorter because I wanted to be pretty accurate, but I guess I came close to the movie version instead ;_;
[Rabi/Lavi from D.Gray-Man]
This was first debuted at Anime Expo 2007.
Im glad I did the 2nd version of this outfit~ though in the beginning I really did want to make his first version xD The pleather was hard to work with of course, but it turned out to be one of my favorite costumes ever. Its not that uncomfortable either :] Plus Rabi is my fav from DGM, huhuhu *___* The pleather was pretty shiney though, it made me feel like I was wearing a trashbag xD Thank you credits to Jin for making the buttons, and Kei for making the cross pendant! They turned out great!
[Kazu/ Air Gear]
There is nothing about this outfit that had to be sewn. Haha. Just a japanese school uniform jacket, a sweater, beanie, pants, (borrowed from Itsuka) wig, borrowed skates, and turqoise/blueish contacts. Woot! I loved cosplaying Kazu though, Air Gear is a REALLY fun cosplay *_* I hope to make the team jacket someday!
[Uchiha Sasuke/ Naruto Shippuden]
Debuted at AX 07. The dreaded timeskip Sasuke outfit. >_> UGH PLEASE LET IT BE THE LAST TIME I'LL BE COSPALYING SASUKE AT A CON!! Private shoots are okay, since I wont be walking around much. But this costume...I had to hold my ghetto rope thing up all the time and fix my robe thing xD I didnt like the fact of "exposing" chest either. At least its one of the easier costumes to make, cept the rope was a total bitch, and the "hip wrap" was made out of entirely fabric, saftey pins, and interfacing xD
[Yuffie Kisaragi/ Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children]
Debuted at AX 07! Another rare girl cosplay whooo! This was sorta last minute, made shortly before AX 07...but I'm so glad I made it because ive always wanted to cospaly AC yuffie and the outfit ended up SO comfortable to wear! I could run around in it and stuff hahaha. I can act annoying and weird at the same time too! hehe.
[Zero Kiryu/ Vampire Knight]
Debuted at Nisei week 2007. This is actually the only outfit I had not made by myself. My friend hofuzz had this outfit custom made for him in Hong Kong for AX 07 but it was too small on him so he sold it to me at a low price xD I did minor adjustments and add-ons to the costume though. This outfit was really comfortable and well-made, I'll probably be using this for future referneces on making blazers haha
[Okazaki Shin/ NaNa]
Debuted at Pacific Media Expo 07. A Semi-last minute cosplay, turned out to be one of my favorites as well! Shin has always been one of my favorite characters from Nana but I never even thought of cosplaying him since I thought he was kinda hard to pull off, looks and personality wise. But it was really fun putting together the costume (minus the pants, I need to remake those) and walking around the con in it :] Definately something I'd wear again. Plus I had a good excuse to buy those awesome wooden sole shoes xD
[Hitachiin Kaoru/ Ouran High School Host Club]
Debuted at Pacific Media Expo 07. This one was waaaay last minute, I actually had to rely on my mother heavily for help on this one because PMX was so close and blazers were alot harder to make than I thought. My other twin Hanna and I didnt know who was gonna be who for these twins, but I think I ended up being Kaoru xD This was a really fun cosplay anyway, even though I could barely handle trying to do the poses theses twins do!! *dies*
[Lucifer/ Angel Sanctuary]
Debuted at AnimeLA 08. I have always loved Angel Sanctuary, but I never thought I would cosplay from it xD with alot of help from Aku, I managed to get most of the costume done by the convention but someday, if I ever get to it I want to complete it with gas mask, props, and all that other good stuff that will kill me xD; It was hard to walk in the wings! It was hard for me to portray Lucifer since...well he is the devil and Kira/Lucifer is just really hot xD and has this certain look that I can't pull off very well ]:
[Rokudo Mukuro/ Katekyo Hitman Reborn!]
Debuted at AnimeLA 08. My favorite character from Reborn! *_* There are many characters in Reborn that I want to cosplay but Mukuro had to be my first one. I wanted to make his black version but leather is so hard to work with T_T The outfit was very comfy and easy to move in xD Props to jerry for making the staff! :] I think Mukuro was fun to "pose/act" as, since he's a sadistic/psycho kinda guy? or something...and smiles alot. xD
[Kyouya Hibari/ Katekyo Hitman Reborn!]
Debuted at Fanime 08, this was the next character in Reborn I wanted to cosplay haha. He was easy enough, and plus the outfit was super comfortable. I felt I couldn't get his expressions down though >_<; His weapon I made out of plastic pipes and just spraypainted haha.
[Radu Barvon/ Trinity Blood]
Debuted at Fanime 08, this was sorta a last minute cosplay when Aku told me she wanted to do the arabic versions of Radu and Ion from trinity blood hahahah. I liked these costumes though, and only thing that was bugging me about it was the "head wrap" part which kept falling off D: Cosplaying Radu also makes me wish I had a "sexier, mature" face LOL
[Kuro/ Tekkon Kinkreet]
Debuted at Fanime 08. I was unsure how I was going to pull off this costume, since he's a little kid and...I'm not accurate to that height xD However this costume was extremely fun to wear with marika, who went as Shiro. Not many people recognized our costumes but we were proud to make these costumes from one of the best animated films ever :)
[Kazu (team jacket)/ Air Gear]
Debuted at Anime Expo 08. During such hot weather, this outfit was a little uncomfortable to wear, as the leather stuck to my skin alot @_@ This type of pleather was really hard to work with too. Akusesu did the base of the jacket and some zippers for me (she handles pleather really well!) and I did rest of the details which seemed like endless agonizing hours for me (but really it only took like half a day to complete haha)
[Ichimaru Gin/ Bleach]
Debuted at Anime Expo 08; this outfit was a bit last minute planned to make. I enjoyed wearing this though, even if squinting my face like a fox was hard for me rotfl but acting as Gin was very fun, and I hope to cosplay more characters like him :)
[Zero/ Code Geass]
Debuted at Anime Expo 08. Originally I was going to make only Lelouch's school uniform, but since Itsuka wanted to cosplay pilot C.C it seemed to match more if I did Zero...I was very skeptical on wearing a body suit (also considering the fact he is practically anorexic looking) XD The cape annoyed me like crazy, but I wanted the collar as gravitiy-defying as it can be haha. My friend Muze let me borrow his awesome hand-made Zero's helmet, so that was fun.
[Zuko/Avatar: The Last Airbender]
Debuted at Comic-Con International 2008. I did the main book 3 version of his outfit. I'm so glad I cosplayed from Avatar, wearing it to Comic Con was awesome! (espescially the Avatar panel) I didn't get to do a private shoot at Comic Con but in the future I plan to.
